On 22 September 2014,Stihl has annonced its sponsorship of Grown in Britain at the APF trade event at Ragley Hall in Worcestershire.

Grown in Britain aims to encourage the growth and maintenance of British woodlands, plus a social and economic environment that rewards the same. The scheme is working with growers, processors, manufacturers and retailers to stimulate a sustainable supply and demand chain for British grown wood.

Commenting on the newly formed association, Stihl GB marketing head Simon Hewitt said: "Grown in Britain is changing the way the public and businesses view woodland management, and is getting people to consider where their wood comes from. 

"We will be using our connections with the forestry and construction secotrs to support this excellent work and promote the ambitions of Grown in Britain."

Speaking about Stihl’s support, Grown in Britain chief executive Dougal Driver said: "Stihl is a fantastic partner for Grown in Britain as they not only bring a long history of providing excellent tools to manage our woods and forests but they also understand the need to change the perceptions in our society towards the need for active management.

"Stihl’s support for Grown in Britain is a significant boost to our ambition to ‘get our woods working’."
